The works of unfinished art often draw the eye, as well as the reason for them being left unfinished. It may be tragedy, stress or even laziness. Whether purposely unfinished or accidentally. The piece is able to show the creative process of the artist, as well as the deeper meanings they may have.
In some sense the collection can highlight the intimate and personal side of the work, portraying the individual brushstrokes to the sketched out backgrounds.
The collection has the ability to show a vulnerable side to the artists as they are exposed. This is evident through there smudged fingerprint to there ignored areas.
Furthermore, the excuses collection investigates the long lists to short one word answers to why the work was abandoned. It adds another dimension to the collection, understanding the raw meanings of the work and the artist.
